Our Mission

With teaching, performance and appreciation of classical music as its foundation, the Innsbrook Institute offers opportunities for enrichment, enlightenment and inspiration by providing cultural and educational experiences in harmony with the natural environment.

Our History

The Innsbrook Institute was created in 2001 by David Halen, concertmaster of the Saint Louis Symphony and the Aspen Music Festival Orchestra; Innsbrook Chairman, Ed Boyce; and Institute Executive Director Ron James. The Institute presents a festival of concerts featuring local and nationally known musicians performing in the natural beauty of Innsbrook. In addition, the Institute provides an environment for young, first-rate music students to work with the best string, wind, and piano instructors in the nation as well as with Saint Louis area musicians.

David Halen’s summer music academy and festival was the beginning of the Innsbrook Institute, a nonprofit 501c3 organization, created to promote excellence and creativity in the appreciation, performance and teaching of the arts for youth and adults.

The Innsbrook Institute Music Festival is one of the largest chamber music festivals in the Midwest featuring 20 chamber music concerts programmed by David Halen.
