CONCERT SCHEDULE

The 2009 Innsbrook Institute Music Festival’s ninth season is sure to be a magical week with a host of inspiring guests, wonderful concerts and surprises.

This year we welcome back Innsbrook Institute favorites including cellist Julie Albers, pianist Wendy Chen, violinist Chee-Yun, violinist and artistic director David Halen, violinist Jonathan Swartz, flutist Mark Sparks, violinist Isabel Trautwein, and cellist David Requiro who appeared previously with the Kashii QuartetWe will also welcome new artists to the Innsbrook Institute including pianist Grace Fong, The Jupiter Quartet, and violist Jonathan Vinocour.

Friday, June 5 – Beautiful
Our official kick-off concert will present beautiful works performed by violinist Chee-Yun, pianist Wendy Chen, the Jupiter Quartet, violist Rebecca Albers and cellist Julie Albers. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Saturday, June 6 — Playful: The Family Concert
This family concert will showcase violinist Isabel Trautwein and friends performing music about animals. Kids will get to join in the fun too! The kids will all have special VIP seating for this concert! Conference Center/4 p.m.

Saturday, June 6 – Evocative
Enjoy works by Tchaikovsky and Vaughn Williams featuring cellist Julie Albers and a chamber orchestra conducted by SLSO resident conductor Ward Stare. Violinist Chee-Yun, cellist David Requiro and pianist Wendy Chen will also perform. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Sunday, June 7 – Impressionistic
Enjoy works by French composers Poulenc, Saint-Saëns and others. Flutist Mark Sparks, pianist Grace Fong and violinist Chee-Yun will be featured. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Monday, June 8 — Grandeur & Intimate
This concert will feature Debussy’s Afternoon of a Faun and Beethoven’s Septet in E-flat Major, Op. 20 performed by flutist Mark Sparks, clarinetist Scott Andrews, violinist David Halen, the Jupiter Quartet, violinist Erin Schreiber and friends. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Tuesday, June 9 – Passionate
Hear works by Bach, Barber and Bottesini featuring violinist David Halen, flutist Mark Sparks, harpsichordist Maryse Carlin, violinist Heidi Harris and string bassist Erik Harris. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Wednesday, June 10 — Student Solo Recital
This student recital features the Institute students. Conference Center/4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, June 10 – Intense
This concert showcases the Jupiter Quartet, pianist Peter Henderson and violinist Chee-Yun performing works by Haydn, Beethoven and Chausson. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Thursday, June 11 – Unexpected
Come listen to the Jupiter Quartet play Beethoven’s Quartet in e minor, Op. 59, No. 2 “Razumovsky” as well as performances by the Mentored Residents, violinist Isabel Trautwein and pianist Peter Henderson. Conference Center/8 p.m.

Friday, June 12 – Student Solo Recital
This recital showcases the Institute students. Conference Center/1 p.m.

Friday, June 12 – Expressive, Plus Poster Signing!
Join us tonight for expressive works by Mendelssohn, Rachmaninov, Brahms and Shostakovich. This concert will feature the Jupiter Quartet, pianist Grace Fong, and the Mentored Residents. Conference Center/8 p.m. Poster-signing party following concert.

Saturday, June 13 – Student Chamber Concert
This is the first of two student chamber concerts. Conference Center/1 p.m.

Saturday, June 13 – Variety Show
This annual event always proves to be a fun time – from goofy to incredible! You don’t want to miss this entertaining variety show featuring the Institute students, instructors and property owners. (This event is open to Innsbrook property owners to enter an act.) Conference Center/5 p.m.

Saturday, June 13 – Energetic, featuring Beethoven’s Fifth
This concert will feature movements from Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 performed by a large chamber orchestra conducted by SLSO resident conductor, Ward Stare. Soprano Miran Halen will also perform Gershwin’s Summertime. Lake Aspen Stage/8 p.m.

Sunday, June 14 – Student Chamber Concert Finale
Say goodbye to the students at this final concert at the Conference Center at 10 a.m.

TICKET PRICES
Weekend day concerts and weekday concerts are $16 for general admission,
$21 for reserved seating, and kids 17 & under are FREE (in general admission seating only).

Friday & Saturday evening concerts are $20 general admission, $25 reserved seating, kids 17 & under FREE (in general admission seating only).
