The Community at Innsbrook
Although Innsbrook is a premier lake resort, it also represents a year-round community of some 600 residents. Incorporated as a village in 1998, the Innsbrook community makes the Music Academy/Festival possible, graciously lending financial and volunteer support, welcoming students and faculty alike. Students are hosted and “adopted” into residents’ homes.

Institute Student Life & Curriculum
All students receive a minimum of two private lessons. Students will be placed in appropriate level chamber groups and have daily coaching and rehearsal times scheduled, as well as private practice time. Lunch hour is followed by individual master classes or seminars. During the week, additional master classes are presented by guest-artists.

Each day is work-filled, so recreation is needed and planned. Activities have included horseback riding, sailing, beach parties, 10-variety pie eating, and movie nights. In 2007, we staged our third-annual student/faculty talent show.

Nightly festival concerts are a significant part of the students’ experiences at Innsbrook. Seeing artist-teachers perform outstanding works right before their eyes gives immediacy to concepts and skills being introduced during the day. Student performances are equally important.

All chamber groups perform on final concerts and have opportunity for master class evaluation. Selected student soloists are presented each evening prior to festival concerts and are awarded complimentary tickets for family or guests that night. Select performance opportunities may be offered to advanced students alongside faculty members.
